Leaving the gate running

I finally got our tree up. I found this beauty at an estate sale over the summer, in the tool shed behind the house. I saw the box peaking at me from up in the rafters. You better believe I squealed with joy when I pulled it down and saw the tree was INSIDE. It hadn't even been priced, so I added it to my pile and hoped for the best. Oh and did I mention, this find happened at 2 PM, and the sale had started at 8 AM! I was one of the only people in the house at the hour, long after their big rush. I always make it a point to chat up the sale runners, esp. if it is a private family sale. Why? Because when you are friendly, people are friendly back. This beauty of a tree set me back a whole $1.00!

As for the story behind my lonely shiny brite ornament. I discovered her at a yard sale this past weekend behind a few boxes. Me thinks I was a bit late on the find and someone else grabbed the rest of these beautiful ornaments. Perhaps this one fell off to the side. But hey, I'll take what I can get. :)

  2. omg only ONE dollar... O_o

BEST DEAL EVER. And so late in the day, too.

Even $20 would have been a bargain. When repro trees became available, I thought prices would fall but I haven't seen it happen!
